The Government is preparing for a ruling from the European Commission on Apple, which may be announced this week.
There are growing indications the Commission will rule that the technology giant received illegal state aid from Ireland.
Sources say such a ruling could result in the State being obliged to collect billions of euro from Apple.
Ireland has argued Apple was never granted a special tax deal by the Revenue Commissioners.
The Minister for Finance Michael Noonan has already stated that Ireland would appeal any negative finding to the European Court of Justice. Read More
